Park Township Michigan

Park Township Plaza, Holland, Michigan
Permanent Outdoor Display Erected in 2019

In developing a former marina into a new County operated marina, Ottawa County provided an area of approximately 1000 SF for Park Township to create a plaza for public gathering with a interpretive component to detail some aspect of the township’s history. LVH was charged to provide various suggestions for subject matter and then implement the content approved by the Township Board. After providing the subject matter for three topics, the Township chose the concept of showcasing the changing evolution of the parks in the area from the early private resort parks to the Township’s more recent commitment to provide publicly accessible parkland for all citizens and the general public. To implement this concept, LVH designed a monument to hold 4 double sided curved panels, researched and wrote the text for the panels, captured drone photos of the various area parks, and designed the graphics. LvH also selected the pavers, developed the paver pattern, hired the mason to install the pavers, and incorporated a round custom made stainless steel Park Township logo set into the pavers.
