Exhibit Synopsis: Berrien County developed in relation to its water-based transportation routes that linked it to the rest of the young American nation. A study of the shipwrecks off Berrien County, lost enroute to and from the twin port of Benton Harbor and St Joseph, and the cargos they carried offer a glimpse of the county’s economic history.
